Goals of the association
The World Association of Calligraphers is an independent, international, non-political, non-religious and non-partisan body working to advance calligraphy, calligraphic painting and the art of writing around the world. It supports everyone with an interest in writing, from children taking their first steps to celebrated masters and professors, evaluating each group according to its age and artistic level. Through the thoughtful use of technology, the association works to preserve and strengthen handwriting and to turn everyday writing into art, spreading a message of love, friendship and peace through education, artwork registration, exhibitions, competitions and cultural projects.
Introduction
The World Association of Calligraphers was founded on the belief that writing and the art and culture built around it hold profound human value. Its purpose is to bring together artists, masters, students, children, researchers and enthusiasts of calligraphy and the written arts from countries around the world.
The association holds that writing is more than a means of conveying words: it is part of cultural identity, human heritage, a tool for education and a language shared among nations. Writing can grow from a simple daily skill into calligraphy, design, calligraphic painting and a work of real artistic value.
Nature and principles
The World Association of Calligraphers is an independent, international, non-political, non-religious and non-partisan organization. It respects the culture, language, writing systems and art of every nation, and carries out its work on the basis of mutual respect, honesty, merit, cooperation and respect for the dignity of artists.
The association does not engage in political, religious or partisan activity. Its purpose is to build cultural, artistic and human connection among the people of the world.
Supporting every age and every artistic level
The World Association of Calligraphers supports everyone with an interest in writing and art: children who have just begun to write, beginning students, amateur artists, and equally professional artists, masters, researchers and distinguished professors of calligraphy and the written arts.
The association believes that every person, regardless of age, nationality, place of residence, level of experience or academic title, should have the opportunity to learn, grow, be introduced and progress artistically.
To keep this fair and to respect differences in age, education and artistic development, members are grouped into different levels: children, teenagers, beginning students, amateur artists, semi-professional artists, professional artists, masters and distinguished artists each have programs, competitions, exhibitions and evaluation suited to their level. This grouping does not diminish any group; it ensures each person is taught and evaluated at the right level and has a clear path forward. The work of children and beginners is reviewed at their own level, while the work of masters and professional artists is evaluated at a specialist, international level.
Writing, technology and its transformation into art
Given the growth of technology and the widespread use of computers, mobile phones and digital tools, the association works to keep the writing, handwriting and written expression of students and the younger generation from being weakened.
The association is not opposed to technology; it seeks harmony between technology and human writing. The next generation should keep pace with scientific and technological progress while preserving and strengthening its ability to write, create and express its ideas.
The association's aim is for everyday writing to grow into calligraphy, design, composition and, ultimately, calligraphic painting, where letters and words are combined with form, color, movement, feeling and creativity to become works of art.
Children, teenagers and schools
The association works with schools and educational centers to strengthen handwriting, teach calligraphy and nurture the artistic talent of children and teenagers.
Among its activities in this area are student competitions, teaching classes, creative writing programs and exhibitions of outstanding work. Its aim is for children and teenagers to see writing not merely as a school assignment, but as a way to express feeling, thought and artistic creation.
Registration, evaluation and certification of works
Artists may submit their work for registration in the association's system. The work's details, the artist's name, the date of creation, an image of the work and its technical specifications are kept in a digital file.
Works are evaluated by a specialist panel, at a level suited to the artistic level of the artist. The association's evaluation is not a commercial valuation; it reflects the artistic level and quality of the work. An identifier and a certificate are issued for works that qualify.
Membership in the association
Membership is open to children, students, learners, amateur artists, professional artists, masters, researchers and other qualified enthusiasts from around the world.
Age and nationality are not barriers to membership; the main criteria are interest, activity, talent and artistic quality. Members are expected to observe the association's rules, respect artistic property rights, uphold professional ethics and treat other members with respect.
Art for peace and humanity
The association supports programs and projects on the themes of love, kindness, friendship, humanity and peace. The International Art for Peace project is one example of this approach, connecting artists and people from different countries to one another through art and calligraphy.
The association believes art can cross geographic, linguistic and cultural borders and carry a message of peace and friendship to all people.
Our final commitment
The World Association of Calligraphers is committed to carrying out its work with honesty, transparency, respect for cultures and support for every artistic level, from a child's first attempt at writing to the works of the world's great masters and artists.
The association works to keep writing alive, dynamic and creative, and to keep it in step with the progress of technology, so that letters, words and art can remain a shared human language for expressing love, affection, friendship and peace.
Love, affection, friendship and peace.
